I woke up and found this gem from Kavet the Catalyst’s blog. He went over to NYC and went to a bunch of shops that sell street wear clothing and found who and who didn’t have great customer service. On the list were The Hundreds, Supreme, Turntable Lab, Johnny Cupcakes, Fresh Jive and HoF. The funny thing is that he goes on to mention about the local Hawaii shops and doesn’t include Prototype. I’m not sure if that was on purpose or not but I find it kind of funny.

Every single time I go into Prototype at Pearlridge, I get mean mugged, gear checked, and ignored (all Kavet’s own words). I left a comment too explaining this as well.

I can only say great things about the local stores I’ve dealt with here besides Prototype but if I had to say who has the greatest customer service, it would have to be Kicks Hawaii hands down. The guys there are straight up, will strike a convo with you even if you looked homeless. The one thing I’ve noticed is that they don’t pre-judge anyone based upon their looks, their clothes, or their style. It’s pretty cool to be able to go in there not dressed in the skinny jeans, fitted over your ears, gigantic holes in your ears, and a whatever brand t-shirt that is popular today and still get hands down, the best customer service. By best I mean they will spark up a convo about anything, and will talk to you and will just shoot the shit without even knowing who the hell you are. That is what great customer service is all about.

I have been using www.myfitnesspal.com and the accompanying iPhone app to help track my calorie intake as well as my progress with my weight loss program. So far so good! I also purchased WeightBot which is a great app for tracking your weight.

Not much else going on. Got paid today, really small paycheck since I was out sick for a full week. At that point and time I wasn’t past my introductory period with the new company I am working for therefore I did not have sick leave to use. I was recently notified (today) that I am now a full fledged employee. That means I can now use my sick leave if and when I’m sick. Also the company is picking up my entire health care plan.

Hopefully going to catch the USC vs. University of Hawaii tomorrow.

Just a word of advice, don’t use the same password for all of your logins, especially email and banking. Try to have a unique password for every login you make. In case your account is comrpomised, the attacker will be left with one single account. If you use a universal password, which a lot of people do, then you can be screwed royally. I had my GMail account compromised recently and was shocked to find out it was sending out spam. I noticed that someone from Spain had logged in to my account. In any case, I recently switched from using one universal password to using extremely unique passwords. I’m talking 20 alphanumeric and characters such as !@#$%^&*()_+.,’”; to thwart would be crackers. Just a heads up!

Went to work for 11.5 hours, got a phone call during work telling me my son’s football pads were in my wife’s car. My son couldn’t go to practice. That bummed my trip. Hate to see him miss football. Hoping to get to work by 6:00AM so I can leave earlier. That means I have to fall asleep by 10:00-10:30PM at the latest otherwise I will be screwed. I won’t have enough sleep and I’ll be unbelievably tired in the AM. I got my Fatlace lanyards today. It’s the new white ones that say Fatlace on them that they recently released.

I bought four of them since the last time they sold out of their illest lanyards and never restocked them. At least it wasn’t $15/lanyard.

My uncle died. He was only 49 years old. That’s a pretty young age to go. I wish he was still here. Although we weren’t close, my mother and him were very close. He was like the brother she never had. It sucks that cancer takes good people who have so much more in their lives to share with everyone. I guess the only thing I learned from this is that try whatever it is to keep cancer at bay. Lose weight, eat less red meat, don’t smoke, don’t drink in excess, things like that, or so they say. Just keep the faith.

It’s pretty crazy how quick the year has gone by. In April I lost my job and found another in May. I am not sure if I will stick around at my current job. I wish the hours were a little easier but I’m not going to complain, the main thing is I got a job. But at the same time, it does take a huge toll on me and my family.

In that regard, it’s almost Monday and I am dreading going in to work. Wish I didn’t feel this way. In closing. Have a great week.
