The saga continues.  It’s February 2010, the month that many said would be the death of Technics turntables.  So far I’m seeing some hints that it is indeed done with.  I mentioned earlier that BHPhoto had price gouged the Technics 1210M5G turntable from $799 to $899 within just a few days.

I heard back from BHPhoto on Twitter indicating that Technics is discontinuing their turntables.  I was shocked since everything I read pointed to the rumor of Technics stopping production being a hoax.  I guess not!

I’m extremely disappointed that a company like Panasonic would leave us out in the dust like that.  I think I might try to contact the Consumerist to help get some answers.
