Hit up the gym today

Finally got around to doing a full workout at the gym.

I did:

3×5 sqats

3×15 flat bench press

2×10 decline bench press

Feels really good to get this workout in.

I have been struggling with hand placement while doing squats.  My shoulders haven’t been flexible enough to get them under the bar without feeling very uncomfortable.  I have been doing shoulder dislocates and this has helped tremendously.

Everybody’s moving

These last few months I’ve seen roughly 4 people get up and move.  Whether it was for a new relationship, new opportunities, economic downturn, or whatever, it seems so strange.  I just got a MySpace message saying that a friend who I was very close with during my child and teen years is moving.  He’s having a surprise going away party but I won’t be able to make it.

I guess if you don’t have a decent job, don’t have family to rely on or want to be independent here in Hawaii, it’s harder than heck to try and make a living while still paying your rent, insurance, bills, or whatever just to get by.  Add on top of that, you’re probably living paycheck to paycheck and will be doing so for pretty much the rest of your life.

It doesn’t seem to odd for people to think, “Wow, what am I doing with my life?  I’m doing nothing productive, I could be living elsewhere making at least a decent earning wage and possibly own my own home!”  It doesn’t take magic to realize that it’s better to move to the mainland and get things done to do work!

Although it’s sad to see all these people go, it’s something they all must do to make a living for themselves.  I don’t blame them.

I just hope I don’t have to do this one day.  I hope I can live my life out here for the rest of my life.  Nothing better than blue, crystal clear beaches, palm trees, hula dancers, beautiful women and choke ALOHA.

Like Tupac said, “Life goes on.”
